RNC’s Whatley to Newsmax: Midterms Key to Trump’s Term

Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley told Newsmax on Monday that preserving President Donald Trump’s ability to see through his agenda means keeping Republican control of Congress in the 2026 midterms.

That job, Whatley said, began the day after the inauguration.

“[T]he midterms started on Jan. 21,” Whatley said on “The Record With Greta Van Susteren.” “You know, very excited to have President Trump in the White House. And the question that we’re facing right now is whether he’s going to have a two-year term or a four-year term.”
