In a letter to colleagues, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., said the Democrat caucus is pushing back “against the far-right extremism that is being relentlessly unleashed on the American people.”
Jeffries laid out 10 action items House Democrats are doing, including introducing legislation to prevent unlawful access to the Treasury Department’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service payment system and highlighting Republican policies that they believe raise the cost of living for the American people.
Democrats on the House Judiciary and Oversight Committee are preparing litigation over several executive orders, including ending birthright citizenship, the firing of inspectors general, terminations of federal civil service employees, the purge of the FBI and the suspension of funds appropriated by Congress.
