Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin on Thursday said he canceled a $2 billion grant he called “insane” for an organization that is linked to two-time Democrat Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.”I have terminated the $2 BILLION Biden EPA grant to this Stacey Abrams-linked NGO, ” Zeldin posted on X. The post continued: “The DOJ/FBI are investigating and the money has been frozen. It is insane that the Biden Admin would give $2B to an organization that previously only received $100!”
The announcement from Zeldin also retweeted a post from President Donald Trump, who asked, “Is Stacey Abrams going to give back the Two Billion Dollars they funneled into her ‘environmental fund’ just prior to my assuming office. She went from $100 in donations to $2,000,000,000 in just one day? Not bad!!! Get back the money.”The EPA announced on March 20 that it had notified several organizations it was canceling grants approved in what the agency dubbed “the Biden-Harris administration’s $20 billion gold bar scheme.”
Several EPA grant termination actions have been at least temporarily blocked by a federal judge pending a potential government appeal according to Courthouse News.
