Hochul Shields Abortion Pill Providers

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a law Monday shielding the identities of healthcare providers prescribing abortion pills, days after a Louisiana grand jury indicted a New York doctor for mailing abortion pills to a patient in the Bayou State, The Hill reported.

“Reproductive freedom will always be protected in the State of New York — and I’ll never back down from this fight,” Hochul said.

The law allows providers to use their practice’s name on prescription labels instead of their own. Hochul vowed to defend abortion access, calling reproductive rights “under attack across the country.”
