Former President Donald Trump is down by 6 points nationally to Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a new poll released Tuesday from Morning Consult.
In the extensive survey that polled over 10,000 likely voters, 51% said they plan to vote for Harris compared to only 45% for Trump. Harris’ 6-point lead represents a 3-point increase since a Morning Consult poll had her leading by 3 points before the debate.
Before last week’s debate, the majority of polls showed the candidates locked in a statistical tie; yet, after the debate on ABC, which featured a rehearsed Harris versus a more free-flowing Trump, many voters now say they will support Harris in November.
