Former President Donald Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris among Independent voters in Michigan by 25%, 55-30, with the GOP nominee’s support for infertility coverage a major motivation, according to polling data released Wednesday by co/efficient.
Trump in Michigan last month said: “Under the Trump administration, your government will pay for — or your insurance company will be mandated to pay for — all costs associated with IVF treatment. We want more babies, to put it very nicely. And for the same reason, we will also allow new parents to deduct major newborn expenses from their taxes.”
This helped lead to 27% of voters that said it makes them more likely to support his 2024 campaign versus 17% who say they’re less likely.
