Former President Donald Trump, asked during Tuesday’s presidential debate if he would veto a bill protecting abortion rights nationally, said he wouldn’t have to “now that the states are voting.”
Trump, pressed to answer the question with a yes or no after debate moderator Linsey Davis said his running mate Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, claimed he would veto such a bill if it came to his desk, said, “I didn’t discuss it with J.D.”
“I don’t mind if he has a view, but we didn’t discuss it,” Trump said. “We don’t have to discuss it because she [Vice President Kamala Harris] wouldn’t be able to get it just like she couldn’t get student loans.”
